Karin Amrhein
was born in Miltenberg and studied classical clarinet at the Würzburg University of Music. During her studies, she began giving clarinet lessons to children and adults and can now draw on over 20 years of teaching experience. Both in teaching and as a musician, she moves across musical genres: from Baroque to New Music, from jazz to Klezmer to rock and pop. Over the years, she has expanded her instrumentation to include bass clarinet, tenor, alto, and soprano saxophone, and the flute. These instruments have been used in various musical and theater productions and improvisational dance workshops. She plays the bass clarinet in the ethno-jazz band bandasud, in the clarinet quartet tetrablatt, and performs a solo program that combines a variety of musical influences. As a classical clarinetist, she plays chamber music, church music, and in many orchestras.
