FLUTE MUSIC
from 5 centuries
played by three flute ensembles
led by two lecturers from the Büdingen Music and Art School

For Thanksgiving, recorder and flute players from the Wetterau region meet for a special concert in which three different flute ensembles perform together.

In the double-choir canzone “La Negrona” by Pietro Lappi, the Renaissance flutes of The Flute-Connection enter into dialogue with the Flauti dolci, and at the beginning and end of the concert all ensembles together make the church resound with an Irish suite by Paul Clark and a swing by Lyndon Hilling.

The recorder ensemble Flauti dolci of the Büdingen Music and Art School and the flute ensemble of the Protestant Church (conducted by Ursula Vogt) invite you into the fascinating world of Renaissance music with compositions by Vicenzo Ruffo, William Byrd, Juan Vasques, and Floriano Canali. From the Baroque period, the great old master George Frideric Handel will be honored, and more modern times are also not neglected with an exhilarating blues by Gerald Schwertberger.

The Friedberg Music School's ensemble, The Flute Connection (directed by Sabine Dreier), has been meeting annually for a themed concert in Friedberg for some time now. The flute ensemble will now be performing in Büdingen in a smaller ensemble, performing flute music from the Renaissance period on historical flutes and from the Romantic period on modern flutes. The audience can expect compositions by Edvard Grieg from Norway and Marc Berthomieu, as well as Pierre Attaingnant and Pierre Sandrin from France.
